Asylum stands outside of the arena. He'd been watching the man training. He had worked hard. Put in a great effort, but now it is time to leave. He doesn't notice the man hiding in the shadows. He simply bundles himself more closely into his jacket against the chill that has developed in the darker hours and begins his journey back to his hotel. Asylum stays just a few steps behind, keeping his presence a mystery from the man he is following.
Asylum: Braxton, you walk through life thinking of nothing except yourself.
The man turns a corner and after a brief hesitation Asylum does the same, keeping the man in sight.
Asylum: You smile for the cameras and flirt with the ladies. Hell, you'd flirt with the guys if you thought it would help to advance your career.
He stops at a cross walk. Asylum stops a short distance away cloaking the shadows around him. The man begins once more.
Asylum: Your eyes are always fixed on the future. Always looking at the horizon. Into the distance.
Obviously the man cannot hear Asylum's ranting or surely he would have turned around by now.
Asylum: Your career is far more important to you than it should be, Braxton. Many I have faced before have never wrestled again after I was through with them. Most are never the same. That's the future that is in store for you.
The man's pace quickens as he recognizes his hotel.
Asylum: Braxton your future is creeping up behind you.
The man enters the well lit hotel lobby and heads to the elevator. Asylum watches the elevator doors close and then makes his way to the stairwell.
* * *
The man gets off the elevator, turns down the hall and heads to his room. He slides his magnetic key card, hears the audible click, and opens the door. Suddenly Asylum appears behind him, puts a hand over his mouth, and shoves him into the room. Asylum struggles with the man in the hotel room, but turns back to the camera.
Asylum: Braxton, the future is coming. I am coming. You really should look behind you more often. It could save your life.
The screen goes black just as man screams, sounding very much like a woman.
