Before the first match of Crackdown can begin the ring announcer grabs the microphone.
Announcer: Now making his way to the ring, your general manager, Patrick McGillicuddy.
The crowd cheers as the man behind the matches is announced. He appears at the top of the ramp with a mic in hand. The spotlight finds him and illuminates the man. He pushes his glasses up on his nose and slicks his hand back through his hair. He shrugs to adjust the expensive suit he's wearing and waits for the crowd to silence.
Patrick McGillicuddy: Ladies and gentleman. As many of you are aware the tag team division is sort of slim right now. So slim in fact that it almost nonexistent. We'd like to help add some competition.
The crowd responds with applause.
Patrick McGillicuddy: So we are renaming the Tag Team Championship as the 1-2-3 Championship. This means that teams of either 1, 2, or 3 people can compete for the belt. We will be beginning a tournament shortly to crown the inaugural champion. All superstars who would like to be considered should let the management team know of their intentions post haste.
The GM pauses letting the first announcement sink in. Then he continues.
Patrick McGillicuddy: And secondly I would like to introduce everyone to the 24/7 Championship belt.
He holds up the strap for all to see.
Patrick McGillicuddy: This belt will not be won on any installment of Crackdown. It won't be handed out at any pay per view event. This belt will be won backstage, in the parking garage, in a person's home. This belt is up for grabs twenty four hours a day and seven days a week. For someone to hold this belt for any length of time they need to be a true expert at their craft and need to be ever vigilant.
He holds the belt up for a little bit longer.
Patrick McGillicuddy: Let the games begin.
He then turns and leaves for the backstage area.
