Slash vs Chris Gavrilidis _ thanks to Masterson for writing this match
The fans await anxiously as the debut of RWF is about to begin. The first match ever, the tension in the air could be cut with a knife. The superstars all in the back, were preparing for their matches, lacing up boots, wrapping hands and wrists, and putting finishing touches on their gear. They were each doing their own rituals to break free of the nervous hold on them and get ready for their matches. This was the night that all of their futures would begin.
It seemed like everything got silent then the intro to Everyday Combat by Lost Prophets began to play.
Ring Announcer: “Tonight’s match is a singles match set for one fall!”
The fans awaited, all of them could feel the hype building as the music kept building and building. Then at the 15 second mark the music really hit and out came Chris Gavrilidis. He immediately rose his arms and roared and the crowd so excited for the opening rose up and began to roar with him.
Ring Announcer: “Introducing first, weighing in at 285 pounds, Chris Gaaaavrilidis!”
He stopped at the edge of the stage and began to do some warm up bounces then crossed his arms and in the same motion threw them out to his sides, an explosion went off behind him, sending a stream of blue sparks behind him as Chris roared. Chris then began his decent down the ramp, walking slowly with his arms still out shouting about how great he is to the fans as he walks telling them they are in for a true show of wrestling tonight. He then reached the ring and walked over to the corner to ascend up the steel steps. Upon reaching the apron he walked out to the center of it then turned around to face the fans and flexed his arms to them saying “That’s right” and smirking. He then hooked his arms around the top rope and back rolled over the ropes and landed on his feet in the ring then walked to the far turnbuckle and stood up on the second rope and rose one arm again as his music finished and the intro to You Only Live Once by Suicide Silence begins to play.
Ring Announcer: “And his opponent, weighing in at 210 pounds, Slaaaaaash!”
Around 15 seconds the music hits the intense part and Slash walks out from behind the curtain. The fans continue to cheer as they are excited about the first match in RWF history. Slash’s face shows intensity, yet his eyes show calm, cool and collective as he just continues walking past the stage and down the ramp. Slash continues until he reaches the area in front of the ring and then kneels down and lowers his head as if he’s bowing. He sits there for a few seconds then his head snaps up and his eyes open all in the same movement. He stares down Chris as he slowly stands to his feet and then charges for the ring. Upon reaching it he leaps and corkscrews through the second rope and lands in a crouched stance on the mat with one arm straight down for support and the other up ready to protect himself.
The music cuts and all that is heard is the fans’ cheering. The two wrestler eye each other as Slash gets to his feet and they both slowly move around the ring, not letting the other get behind him. After a few seconds of this, the bell rings and the match is underway.
Steve Richardson: “Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to our Dark Show here in the RWF. I’m Steve Richardson-”
Frank Roberts: “And I’m Frank Roberts. And if you’re just tuning in, this the first match to ever take place for this new federation and boy are we excited about it.”
Steve Richardson: “You said it, Frank! We’ve got all kinds of young talent here and we know they are more than capable of putting on a great show that you guys deserve!”
Frank Roberts: “Without further adeu, let’s get this match underway.”
The two men lock up at center ring and the battle is on. Chris using his size advantage pushes Slash back against the turnbuckle and holds him there for a 4 count yelling “You think I’m afraid of you?! You think I’M afraid of YOU!?”
Steve Richardson: “It appears that there is already some bad blood between these two superstars and we’re not even on live television yet.”
Frank Roberts: “I agree, they’ve already managed to get under each others’ skin and they hadn’t even stepped in the ring yet.”
Once again they lock up and Chris is able to push Slash against the turnbuckle again, this time at the 4 count he gives a chop across the chest of Slash before walking backward and yelling “C’mon small fry! Make this foundation crumble!” and smiling.
Frank Roberts: “I’m loving this You can’t handle me attitude from Gavrilidis! He’s got superstar written all over him. Really showing Slash that the intimidation factor isn’t working.”
They hook up again at center ring and Chris starts to push Slash back again, only this time Slash lets go and Chris a swift kick to the gut, and as Chris bends over, Slash delivers a hard kick to his chest. He yelps from the pain and holds his chest as he takes a couple step back, and Slash remains with the calm look on his face.
Steve Richardson: “Slash decides that the lock-ups weren’t working and goes with a different strategy. What a kick!”
Chris takes a couple slow steps towards Slash like he’s gonna go for a lock up and then reels back and goes for a beheading lariat, but Slash is ready and ducks under it. Chris turns around, but Slash is quicker and is already upon him. Slash grabs his arm and twists it around, then gives it a wrench before smacking it with his own elbow. Chris stumbles forward holding his arm and turns around to face Slash, who just stands there calmly.
Steve Richardson: “Looks like size doesn’t matter so far in the match. Perhaps this will aid Slash in the mind games he continues to play with Chris.”
Frank Roberts: “Yeah, yeah. We’ll see about that, Steve. It’s still early.”
Slash then takes a step toward Chris, and Chris lashes out with a punch. Slash blocks the punch, then hits one of his own. Chris then fires another punch out of frustration, and Slash blocks it as well then hits Chris again. Then, out of nowhere Chris charges and nails Slash with a clothesline. Slash jumps back up to his feet, but gets clotheslined down again. Slash gets up a third time, but Chris has already moved in behind him and hit him with a belly to back suplex, then puts him in a headlock and yells out as he tightens it. “C’mon Slash! Where’s the fear you were talking about? Can you still sense my fear? HUH?!”
Frank Roberts: “Woah! And there you see the strength of Chris Gavrilidis. And you said size doesn’t matter! Really showing Slash that he has no fear at all.”
Steve Richardson: “I will admit, Gavrilidis has some impressive technical skills, but it’s still early.”
Slash grabs at Chris’s arms trying to pry himself free for a couple minutes, then realizing the size advantage is too much Slash starts to make his way to his feet. Still in the headlock he finally reaches his feet and throws an elbow into the ribs of Gavrilidis, but the hold stays locked in. Slash tries another elbow, only to be spun to face Chris, who then wraps his arms around the waist of Slash and launches him with a belly to belly suplex. However, Slash lands on his feet and before Chris can get completely up, Slash hits a low dropkick across his chest that sends him rolling across the ring.
Steve Richardson: “The athleticism and coordination of Slash is unreal! He landed on his feet, did ya see it Frank?”
Frank Roberts: “Of course I saw it, won’t do much damage to the big man, Gavrilidis though. You’ll see!”
Slash keeps up the momentum by mounting Chris and punching him repeatedly in the head. However, after 3 punches Chris manages to push him off. Slash tries to come back but Chris catches his foot, then while still holding it, gets up and kicks Slash’s other foot out from under him so that Slash falls on his back. Chris then grabs Slash’s other leg and prepares to put him in the Sharpshooter, however Slash just wriggles around too much to get him turned over so instead Chris just stomps in between the legs, onto Slash’s abdomen. Slash grabs his stomach and rolls away but Chris doesn’t stop there. They end up by the turnbuckle and Chris pushes Slash up against it and punches him a couple times before irish whipping him across to the other side. Chris then charges and lands a clothesline, smashing Slash against the corner and causing him to fall forward. Chris rolls him over and covers him. 1…t-… The Ref barely gets the second hand halfway to the mat before Slash kicks out. Gavrilidis then picks Slash up to his feet and slides in behind him, lifting him and planting him with a back body drop and then covers again. 1…t-… Again Slash kicks out before the two count and Chris gets a look of irritation on his face.
Steve Richardson: “Well, for a smaller guy Slash is showing that he’s got some durability. To be able to kick out before a 2 after a couple of moves like that is impressive.”
Frank Roberts: “Chris is just testing him. You’ll see!”
Chris lifts Slash to his feet again and punches him once before irish whipping him. Slash rebounds off the ropes and Chris prepares to hit his infamous Spinebuster when out of nowhere Slash hits a running calf kick. Chris stumbles back holding his jaw and Slash turns around and runs to rebound again. Chris charges out and leaps, going for a flying clothesline, but Slash ducks under it and rebounds off the other ropes. Chris barely manages to get to his feet and Slash leaps up for a hurracarana, but Gavrilidis catches him powerbomb style. Slash tries wriggling to free himself, but to no avail and Chris powers him down and covers. 1…2. Slash kicks out around 2 ½ and the match continues.
Steve Richardson: “My God the strength in Chris Gavrilidis may actually be too much for Slash.”
Frank Roberts: “And what a Powerbomb for this future champion, might I add!”
Frustrated, Chris lifts Slash to his feet and decides to go a different route. He secures his hands tightly around the lower back of Slash and picks him up off the ground.
Steve Richardson: “Bearhug! Bearhug! How is Slash gonna get out of this one?”
Chris continues to squeeze the hold tighter and tighter, and Slash’s face shows pain. After a few seconds of the hold, Slash starts to fight back with a punch to the head of Chris. He then hits him with an elbow with the other arm and another punch from the first. But, before he can break the hold, Chris launches him with a belly to belly suplex. Gavrilidis smiles as he gets up, then roars to the crowd “Does it look like I fear this weak man!?” and walks over to Slash and covers him again. 1…2.. and he breaks the hold again.
Steve Richardson: “That was about a 2 ¾ count Frank. He’s doing the best he can but things aren’t looking good for Slash.”
Frank Roberts: “I never doubted Chris, not for a second. Look at him. And too think Slash thought he was afraid. Preposterous!”
Chris takes Slash over to the turnbuckle and punches him a couple times before hoisting him up to the top rope. Chris then hits him again and climbs to the second rope, preparing for a superplex. Slash starts to fight back with a punch, and another punch and a third punch. Chris starts to look groggy , but throws a heavy haymaker from the right. However, Slash uses both hands and hits Chris’s right wrist, stopping the momentum then uses his right foot to kick Gavrilidis in the chest and knock him from the second rope to his back. He yells out holding his back as he gets up and Slash jumps from the turnbuckle. This time he hits the hurracarana and sends Chris sprawling across the ring. Slash then jumps to his feet and Chris gets right back up to. Chris then charges at him, but Slash has other plans and picks him up flapjack style, dropping him face first onto the turnbuckle. Chris holds his mouth as he stumbles back from the impact and Slash grabs him around the waist and hits a german suplex, holding him in position for the pin. 1…2… and Gavrilidis manages to get the shoulder up.
Steve Richardson: “Slash almost had em there! What a sight to see folks. Both men giving it there all out here in this debut show for RWF!”
Frank Roberts: “They are doing one heck of a job!”
Chris starts to get to his feet and Slash takes off for the ropes. Slash rebounds and heads for Chris, leaping for a possibly tornado DDT but Gavrilidis hits a superkick out of nowhere, knocking Slash out of the air and down to the mat!
Steven Richardson: “My God! What impact!”
Frank Roberts: “It’s over!”
Steven Richardson: “I don’t see how he’s getting up from that!”
Frank Roberts: “It’s over! Like, I’ve said from the beginning, this kid is future champ!”
Chris lays there for a second before crawling over to cover Slash. 1…2…th- and Slash manages to kick out, keeping his arm raised after to show his resilience!
Frank Roberts: “How?! How could he get out of that?!”
Steven Richardson: “How he kicked out is beyond me, Frank.”
Chris gets a look of disbelief and desperation on his face as he covers again. 1…2…th and again Slash kicks out. Chris smacks the mat and yells at the ref from his knees “You are NOT gonna screw me in my first match. You are NOT! Three taps ref! Three taps!” Chris then gets to his feet and turns to the now kneeling Slash and hits him with a clubbing blow over the back of his neck, knocking him back down to the mat. He then pulls Slash up to his knees again and hooks him for a DDT, he looks from left to right over the crowd and then gets down in Slash’s ear and whispers “Who’s afraid of who now?”, then, out of nowhere Slash picks Chris up onto his shoulders and falls back, nailing a Samoan drop!
Steven Richardson: “Woah! Who knew Slash had that strength em!”
Frank Roberts: “That came out of nowhere!”
Slash lays for a second holding his neck then covers Chris. 1…2…th but Chris manages to kick out before the three count. Both men lay there for a few moments trying to recover and catch their breath then Slash gets to his feet. Chris is up to one knee and is just pushing himself up to his feet when Slash hits a running neckbreaker and covers. 1…2… and Chris gets a shoulder up. Slash shakes off the 2 count and gets to his feet, pulling Chris up with him, he nails Chris with a knife-edge chop and causes him to stagger back, then Slash hits him with another and Chris stumbles back against the turnbuckle. Slash then runs to the opposite turnbuckle, turns around and charges leaping and raising a knee, but Chris has other ideas as he summons his reserves and hits a battering ram headbutt to the abdomen of Slash knocking him out of the air. Both men lay on the mat for a little while, Slash holding his abs and Chris holding the back of his neck. After a few more seconds both men start to get to their feet. Chris strikes first with a punch to the head, and then Slash replies with the same. Chris swings a little harder this time and connects causing Slash to stagger back, but doesn’t stop him from returning the favor as he takes a step and unloads a big punch to Chris. Gavrilidis stumbles back a bit, then catches himself and with a roar he swings for the fences with a huge lariat, but Slash ducks under it and charges for the ropes. He springboards off only to be caught in midair on the shoulders of Gavrilidis.
Frank Roberts: “Here comes the finish, it’s over!”
Steven Richardson: “The power of Chris Gavrilidis ladies and gentleman!”
Chris then lifts him up military press style and roars to the crowd, as he prepares to finish Slash. However, Slash somehow manages to get free and slide down the back of Chris. Chris is ready though and runs forward, rebounding off of the ropes then turning to meet Slash with a lariat and knock him out cold. But, Slash predicted every move and had charged right behind Chris. As Chris came off the ropes, Slash threw an elbow up into the throat of Chris cause him to stumble back, gasping for air. He then follows up by reeling back with both arms and hitting a double palm thrust to the abs of Chris causing him to fall down to his knees, hunched over holding his abs with one hand and his throat with the other. Slash then charges for the ropes and rebounds off. Up on reaching Chris he jumps up and hits a modified corkscrew axekick and drives Chris’s head down hard into the mat.
Steven Richardson: “What Impact! I believe he calls that move The Gash. And it looks like his match is in the books folks.”
Slash rolls Gavrilidis’s body over and covers him 1…2…3!
Frank Roberts: “Well, it looks like I was rooting for the wrong guy.”
Steven Richardson: “I must say I’m impressed by this talent and I’m looking forward to see what else the night brings. Both of these men are great talents and my guess is we’ll be seeing them in the future main events for certain.”
Frank Roberts: “Great match. Perhaps the fear that Slash spoke of really did get to Chris in this match.”
While still covering Chris, Slash whispers to Chris “You may have not felt fear during the battle, but it was always there, in the back of your mind.” He then keeps his eyes on Chris as he stands to his feet and lets the referee raise his arm.
Ring Announcer: “And the winner of this match by pinfall, Slaaaash!”
The crowd cheers him on after the exciting debut match for both superstars and the show, and he slowly rolls out of the ring. Slash backs up down the ramp, his eyes never leaving his opponent and upon reaching the stage he bends down to one knee as he had done before the match and bows his head only this time purple smoke comes up from the stage and when it clears Slash is no longer there.
Steven Richardson: “Woah! Where’d he go, Frank?”
Frank Roberts: “No idea! How creepy is that?!”
Steven Richardson: “Well, no matter. We got another great match coming up for you next, stay tuned!”
After a fifteen minute intermission the announcer makes his way back into the ring.
Ring Announcer: “Ladies and Gentleman, the next match is a singles match and is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Platinum, Alaska. Weighing in at 236lbs. William Frost!”
Insomniac by Capture the Crown blast throughout the arena, the fans get worked up as William Frost is seen at the top of the entrance ramp. He begins walking down the ramp, ignoring the fans plea, just to give him a simple five. He makes his way to the ring, and proceeds to roll under the bottom rope. He walks a circle around the inside of the ring, and climbs up and sits on the top turnbuckle as his music dies down.
You Only Live Once by Suicide Silence hits the PA as Scream is scene walking out from behind the curtain. The fans are cheering with excitement after watch his tag team partners impressive victory. Scream pulls his gloves down further on his arms, ensuring they're tight around his wrist, then begins walking down the ramp.
Ring Announcer: “And his opponent, weighing in at 218lbs. from part unknown. Screeeeeam!”
The fans blow the roof off the building as he makes it to the ring. He stops and stares down William who patiently waits on the far turnbuckle, waiting for Scream to enter. Scream scans the area, the walks over to the steps, and slowly, step by step makes his way up. He walks the apron to the middle and slides through the middle rope. He stands in the ring watching William climb down from the turnbuckle, and stand there in silence. The music dies down as the ref signals for the bell.
Steven Richardson: And the ref has signaled for the bell. William doesn't seem to know what he's looking at, and I must say I'm right there with him. This man is just a freak of nature, just like his tag team partner.
Frank Roberts: You're right on that one, I don't think I could step in the ring with that guy. He gives me the creeps.
William stands for a minute sizing up Scream, yet Scream show no emotion just waiting for the first move to be made. William finally give in and goes running in for a clothesline, just to be brought down by an underhook from Scream. William jumps back up to his feet and grabs Scream by the throat and attempts to slam him, but is met yet with another counter from Scream who powerslams him hard into the mat.
Frank Roberts: This guy is just a monster. Did you see that slam?
Steven Richardson: I sure did, but Frost has some heart because he just keeps getting up.
Scream picks up William, and pushes him over into the turnbuckle. Scream throws some elbows into William's face. Scream them walks over to the turnbuckle across the ring, and runs at William who ducks down and slides out of the ring sending Scream running straight into the corner. Scream is holding his chest as William comes in and shoulder tackles the back of his leg. William takes advantage of the fact he's down and begins stomping into his chest. William takes a break, circles the ring coming back just to be met with a fist to the stomach from Scream. Scream begins throwing fist after fist at William, as William matches him one for one. William somehow picks up the advantage, causing Scream to stop long enough to run against the ropes, As he comes back, Scream picks him up with ease for a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, sending William to the mat thriving in pain.
Frank Roberts: This has been a great match thus far, These two men have some great talent.
Steven Richardson: I just hope William will be able to walk out of here, it just doesn't seem like he can keep this Scream guy down long enough to do anything.
Frank Roberts: Just when you think you have the advantage, he comes out of nowhere and sends you right back down to the mat.
William rolls out of the ring grabbing his ribs, as Scream follows. Scream chases him around the ring, as William slides back in and catches Scream as he follows, stomping him in the back profusely, trying to keep him down. William then climbs to the top turnbuckle and lands with a flying elbow to the chest of Scream. William stands up putting Scream standing up in the turnbuckle, walks over to the opposite side runs at hom, and Scream from nowhere hits William with the Silencer sending William straight out of the ring. The fans are going crazy as Scream tried to catch his breath while he has the chance. As Screams starts to head out of the ring William comes from nowhere with a chair, hitting Scream right in the head knocking him back into the ring. The ref calls for the bell as William slides into the ring with the chair, hitting Scream over and over again. The ref finally gets the chair away from William, as he just stands there staring at Scream.
Ring Announcer: “And the winner of this match as a result of a disqualification. Screeeeem!!!
William becomes furious, striking Scream multiple times with his fist, he goes back outside the ring, grabs another chair. The ref comes after him, just to be hit across the head with the chair. William gets back in the ring and raises the chair as Screams gets back to his feet. William swings the chair as Screams dodges, sending William flying forward disoriented. William tried one more time running at Scream, and Screams comes out of nowhere hitting William with the Supersonic. Screams hurries out of the ring after William hit the ground. William lays there in a daze as the camera goes black.
After another fifteen minute intermission, the announcer gets back in the ring.
Ring Announcer: The Chairman, Chris Mackison, has just informed me that, B-Recked has been removed from this match. Which means our final match is a singles match and is set for one fall.
Blood Red Sandman by Lordi comes onto the PA, Max Cranson is seen coming from the top of the arena through the audience. Thefans are losing it at the thought of a superstar walking past them through the crowd. He makes his way down, slapping the hands of the fans as he passes them. He reaches the barrier, and jumps it with a quick leap, then hastily slides into the ring throwing his arms up, taunting the crowd. Without a break The Mighty Fall by Fallout Boy takes over the PA system.
Once the music picks up, Bryan Anderson is seen walking through the curtains to the top of the entrance ramp. He taunts the crowd, and quickly walks to the ring, wasting no time. He makes it to the ring, rolls in, and starts doing some warmups in the corner as the announcer walks back to the center of the ring.
Ring Announcer: Introducing first, from Seattle, Washington. Weighing in at 260lbs. Max Cranson!
Max brings one arm up, acknowledging the fans.

Steven Richardson: And Max starts off the match with a cheap shot from behind to Anderson.
Frank Roberts: Hey, sometimes you just have to go in for the kill early to secure the win.
Max picks up Bryan and kicks him in the gut then apunch to the face, knocking him back down to his knees. Max then takes advantage and hits Anderson with an Enzuigiri, knocking Bryan to the ground laying face first on the mat. Max Stomps away at Bryan, then walks away laughing.
Steven Richardson: This Max character is really putting a beating to Anderson, I don't see this going on much longer
Max walks back up to Bryan and goes to pick him up, but receives punch after punch in the gut from Bryan. Bryan is getting hyped up, and finally gets to his feet, sending a punch into Max's face. Bryan runs against the ropes, comes back and gets hit with a massive spear from Max. Max goes in the for pin.
Ref: 1.... 2..... 3!
The Ref rings the bell, and holds up the arm of Max Cranson.
Ring Announcer: Here is your winner, Max Cranson!
