Cameron Miller leaves the office of Chris Mackison, meeting her cameraman in the hallway. They discuss their plans as her first official day as the Backstage Correspondent for the RWF and then head down toward the lobby, attempting to scope out any idle superstars to talk to. Upon rounding the corner to head into the lobby, she bumps into a giant of a man.
He stands there looking down at her, the beady red eyes of his cobra mask glaring into her own. His cuirass was gold plated and covers his shoulders, halfway down his back and halfway down his chest. He had black wrist guards with golden cobra emblems on them and then red, black and gold colored tights, which had a scale like patter. He also had the red black and gold scale patter going halfway down his boots, then just regular black on the bottom half of them.
He tilted his head as she looked up at him with wide eyes, waiting for her to explain herself. He would letter regret this and you're about to find out why.
"So sorry! I'm in such a fluster. Ya see, it's my first day and I'm like so nervous about making a good first impression. Chairman Mackison is expecting a lot out of me and I know I can do a good job it's just a lot of work. Ya gotta make sure you have a pen that works, hope that your cameraman doesn't call in sick, think of questions to ask, make sure th-..."She continues to list things, barely taking a breath in between comments and finally Sobek has heard enough. His voice comes out in a low bellow, his "s"s sounding like the hiss of a snake as always.
"Ssssilent!" He says, with such intensity it startles Cameron and causes the Cameraman to slowly take a couple steps back.
"Your pointless banter matters not to the mighty Ssssobek!" He says without a moving a muscle, just continues to stare down into the eyes of Cameron.
"I'm sorry... Ummm... Sobek was it? I'm just still very new and I-..." She starts to explain herself, but is interrupted again by Sobek who this time reaches out with his right arm, stopping just centimeters from her neck.
"Close your lipssss and listen to me." He says as he gently moves his fingers so that each of his fingertips take turns stroking the skin on Cameron's neck.
"Though you may not know the name of Sobek now, you will ssssoon learn it and never forget it." His hand pulls back to his body and his other arm moves up to meet it, crossing them both over his chest. His head slowly tilting to the right then to the left as he speaks, just barely fast enough for you to notice the movement.
"I have come to take my people to their promised land. To bring you out of your slavery and mindlessss cheering for this nonssssense. And to be your king, and lead you all as the legendssss tell." He explains, his eyes never leaving hers. She stands there with wide eyes, and her mouth slightly open, but doesn't say a word as he continues.
"Ever since I was a boy I knew where I was meant to be. I knew where I was meant to go. And I knew where my legacy and my fate would take me." He then leaned in so that the cobra eyes were level with her eyes and kept the position as he spoke.
"And now that I'm here, I question the prophecy. What use does this filthy organization of houndssss and low grade talent have for the Mighty Ssssobek?!" He then moved in so that he was just an inch or two from her face, she didn't even flinch as he moved.
"As I sit here explaining thissss to you, it is finally clear. You are all prisoner's just waiting... Waiting for a hero... A ssssavior... A God!" Sobek says, excitement and happiness filling his voice as he speaks. He then moves so that he is talking from the side of her, the fangs of his mask just centimeters from her neck.
"Issssn't that right, my child?" He asks, his voice quiet and calming, and in a whispering tone. And without even turning her head she answers him.
"Yes, Lord Sobek. We have been awaiting you, our savior, for so long!" He then nods in approval of the comment, and turns to walk away, saying his next comment over his shoulder.
"Fear not, for I your God am here. It won't be long till you are all freed and following me to our promissssed land." He then puts his hand up into the air in a fist and brings it down swiftly, and disappears down the hallway. Cameron's mouth suddenly snaps shut and her eyes blink rapidly as she shakes her head, trying to clear the cobwebs in her mind and remember what just happened. She turns to the camerman who's eyes are wide with fear.
"W-what just happened?" She asked with a shaky voice.
The cameraman just shrugged, not able to even force a word out and the camera goes to black.
